Using Calendar Filters

The Extra Chill Events Calendar at events.extrachill.com helps you discover live music events in Charleston and Austin. Use the filter system to find events by location, artist, venue, or festival.

How Filters Work

The calendar displays all upcoming events by default. Apply one or more filters to narrow results to events that match your interests.

To filter events:

  1. Visit events.extrachill.com
  2. Select a filter category (Location, Artist, Venue, or Festival)
  3. Choose your preferred option from the list
  4. The calendar updates automatically to show matching events

You can combine multiple filters to get more specific results.

Automatic Filtering on Archive Pages

When browsing specific festival, venue, or location pages, the calendar automatically filters to show only relevant events:

  • Festival Archives: Visiting a festival page (like /festival/bonnaroo) shows only events for that festival
  • Venue Archives: Venue pages display events happening at that specific location
  • Location Archives: Location pages filter events to that city or region

The calendar block detects the archive context and applies these filters automatically, making it easy to explore events by category.

Filter Categories

Location

Find events in a specific city or region.

  • Charleston
  • Austin

Artist

Find events featuring a specific performer. The calendar tracks hundreds of artists across both locations.

Venue

Find events at a specific music venue. The calendar includes concert halls, clubs, theaters, and outdoor spaces across Charleston and Austin.

Festival

Find events associated with a specific festival.

Clearing Filters

To return to the full calendar view, clear your active filters using the reset option in the filter controls.

Viewing Event Details

Click any event in the calendar to see full details including:

  • Date and time
  • Venue location
  • Artist lineup
  • Ticket links

Sharing Events

Each event page includes a share button so you can send event details to friends.
